Who can use VaporFi?
All of VaporFi’s e-cigarettes, e-liquids and accessories are designed for smokers who are at least 18 years old. Underage vaping is against the law in the UK. We offer cutting-edge, fun alternatives to old-fashioned cigarettes. Although our products have been used successfully in attempts to stop smoking, it’s important to note that they aren’t licensed as medicines. It’s always worth having a chat with your GP before you start using one.
What’s the VaporFi difference?
We’ve focused on designing great products that e-smokers will love. Every aspect of our devices and liquids has been carefully thought out to create the best possible experience for new and seasoned vapers. If you want a sophisticated machine where settings can be controlled and adjusted in line with your preferences, we’re the company for you.
Is there any smoke or tar in VaporFi’s products?
Not at all – and that’s what makes e-cigarettes so great. There’s no tobacco whatsoever, and nothing is burned when they are used. E-liquids simply get vaporized at high temperatures, meaning there’s no tar or smoke to worry about.
What makes VaporFi better than the rest?
VaporFi e-cigarettes are revolutionary – and offer vast improvements when compared with old-fashioned cigarettes and most of the other vaporizers and e-cigarettes on the market. This is because our suite of products gives you far more choice than fags and basic e-cigs ever could. No more compromises: it’s time for you to get exactly what you want out of your vaping experience.
The only similarity between our products and traditional tobacco cigarettes is that you can inhale nicotine. Everything else is different.
We also have something in common with the less advanced e-cigarettes you can buy on the market. No matter what you use, you won’t have to deal with any tobacco, flames, carbon monoxide, ash, smoke, tar or disgusting odours.
That said, there are reasons why VaporFi stands head and shoulders above the rest. They include:
- Our state-of-the-art accessories
- The high-performance, cutting-edge design of our devices
- Our delicious e-liquids, 100% made in the US
- Our ability to mix and create personalised flavours for you on demand
Is there anywhere I can’t smoke with a VaporFi e-cigarette?
You can use our devices virtually anywhere, but it’s worth remembering that vaping is banned in some restaurants, pubs, banks and shops. It’s always worth checking up on the rules before you start using your e-cigarette in a public place. Overall, many vapers find that they’ve got greater freedom when using their e-cigarettes compared to trying to light up tobacco. This is because exposing the people around you to second-hand smoke is no longer a concern.
Do VaporFi’s products offer a better way of smoking?
We’re here to give you a fun and tasty alternative to smoking that eliminates all the trappings tobacco brings. As the health benefits of e-cigarettes are yet to be proven, it’s best to rely on common sense. Given our products are free of smoke, tar and dozens of nasty chemicals, what do you think?
I’m a new vaper. What should I buy?
A starter kit comes highly recommended if you’re vaping for the first time – and it contains all the components you’ll need to get off the ground. Once you’ve chosen which kit you’re going to buy, it’s time to think about the e-liquids that will fill up your device’s refillable cartomizer. To begin with, it’s worth investing in two to three bottles in varying flavours and nicotine strengths. That way, you can experiment a little and figure out what you’d like more of in the future.
What is an e-cigarette?
Also known as e-cigs or vaporizers, an electronic cigarette is powered by a battery and enables you to inhale nicotine-infused vapour (non-nicotine e-liquids are also available). E-liquids also come with a wide range of flavours, and the sensation of using these devices is not dissimilar to taking a drag on a traditional cigarette.
Most of the time, these devices take the shape of an elongated tube, but you’ll notice that some models mimic the design of tobacco pipes, cigars and cigarettes. Others resemble ballpoint pens. The majority of devices can be reused and come with parts that can be replaced and refilled as you go along. For casual vapers, disposable e-cigarettes are also available.
Some e-cigarettes are automatic and activated whenever you inhale. This is picked up by a sensor, prompting the heating component of your device to begin vaporizing the e-liquid that’s kept in the cartomizer. Other devices are manual and come with a button that needs to be pressed before the heating coil gets to work. Your e-cigarette may come with an LED light at the bottom which shows that it is turned on, and this can also indicate when your battery is running low.
Although e-cigarettes come in an array of designs, they normally consist of the same parts: a rechargeable battery, a mouthpiece, a heating component and several electronic circuits.
Cartridge (also known as cartomizer)
This small tube connects to your battery. Inside the cartridge is an absorbent material, along with a wire coil, that can be saturated with your chosen e-liquid. The strength of the nicotine will depend on what you buy. They are designed so air can flow around, providing the suction needed to bring vapour into your mouth. Depending on the model you buy, you’ll either be able to refill empty cartridges with your own e-liquid or replace it with one that’s been filled in advance.
Cartomizers can store anywhere between 1.5ml and 3ml of e-liquid. Inside, you’ll find an atomizer with wicks that draws the e-liquid in so it can be vaporized. As well as filling with e-liquid whenever supplies are running low, you’ll also need to replace the heads on your atomizer regularly.
Atomizers ensure that e-liquid is heated to the right temperature and becomes vapour. They can last anywhere from three to six weeks before they need replacing, so it’s worth stocking up on a few of them in advance so you’re never caught short.
Lithium-ion, rechargeable batteries are often used to heat up e-cigarettes. The lifespan of these batteries will depend on how big it is and how often you use it. An array of chargers is available, allowing you to power up your e-cigarette from USB ports, your car or a plug in the wall. You’ll usually find that the battery is the biggest part of your e-cigarette.
As we mentioned earlier, some e-cigarettes are manual while others are automatic. A series of electronic circuits ensure your safety, such as the timed cut-off switch which stops your device from overheating.
In the past, many e-cigarettes have been activated electronically through vacuum switches or small tactile switches – but these have been found to be quite unreliable. Now, many manufacturers have turned to mechanical solutions which eliminate wiring and electronics to ensure their devices can be depended upon.
Personal charging cases
New technology spearheaded by the smartphone sector has paved the way for e-cigarettes to be charged while you’re on the move through a compact box called a Personal Charging Case – or PCC for short. These crumple-proof containers can charge battery stems and store replacement cartridges for later use. Many of these accessories are no bigger than a pack of 20 cigarettes, meaning they’re portable too.
What is resistance?
Some of VaporFi’s models come with varying degrees of resistance. In short, atomizers in devices with a lower ohm tend to heat up more quickly. Although you can get more vapour as a result, it could shorten the device’s lifespan and result in a nasty taste – almost like something has been burnt.
Usually, atomizers with a low resistance of between 1.5 and 1.8 ohm are designed to give vapers an experience that’s comparable to setups with higher voltages of up to 6V using batteries with a standard voltage output of 3.2V to 4.2V. Resistance doesn’t matter as much with variable voltage models because output can be modified accordingly. If you’re getting a dual coil cartomizer, 1.5 ohm to 2 ohm is recommended for 3.2V to 5V models, and you consider a 6V battery for resistance in excess of 2 ohm.
How long will my e-cigarette battery and atomizer last?
Cartridges, batteries and atomizers will degrade as they are used, so it’s important to factor in replacing them when you’re budgeting for e-cigarettes.
On average, Express, Rebel, Jet, Air, Pro and Pulse batteries will last for between three to six months depending on how frequently they are used.
Atomizer heads need to be replaced every three to four weeks, and cartridges every one to three weeks.
Any tips when caring for my e-cigarette?
- For maximum vapour production and a longer lifespan, make sure you drain your atomizer every two or three days. All you need to do is separate the cartridge, bunch up some tissue and place it halfway into the atomizer. Blow into the hole where the atomizer connects to the battery so the tissue absorbs any excess liquid that’s in the atomizer.
- After this, apply one or two drops of e-liquid when you want to vape again.
- Usually, you’ll be able to rinse your atomizer heads in hot water and reuse them.
- Charge your battery for four to five hours to begin with.
- Atomizers can leak into the area where it comes into contact with a battery, so make sure you clean the battery with a cotton swab every time you’re about to charge it.
- Disconnect your batteries and atomizers whenever they are not being used to stop liquid from leaking in.
- Keep it in a cool, dark place where it is out of direct sunlight.
- As e-liquids and e-cigarette components could contain nicotine, make sure it’s out of the reach and sight of children and pets.
E-liquid and cartridge questions
How will nicotine affect me?
As well as feeling calmer and more relaxed, nicotine can also enhance how alert you feel. You’ll probably know already that nicotine is an addictive substance – and its effects can be felt for anywhere between a couple of minutes and a few hours. There is inadequate evidence to suggest that pure nicotine, when removed from tobacco, has carcinogenic properties.
How long will my cartridges last?
On our website, you’ll find pre-filled cartridges and tanks you can fill up yourself.
You can normally expect 350 to 400 puffs from a single cartridge, but e-liquids can last for even longer. Usually, you can expect 20 drops per millilitre of e-liquid – and in a 30ml bottle, this means you’ll get about 3,000 puffs. That said, it will vary depending on how you use your vaporizer.
Can I choose the nicotine strength and flavour of my e-liquids?
Definitely. Not only do we have a broad range of flavours to choose from, but we allow you to mix and match – and concoct blends to suit your own specific taste.
What nicotine level should I go for?
If this is your first time vaping, we recommend kicking off at 1.8%. This strength is similar to a regular cigarette, creating a smooth transition for people who have never stopped smoking before. Stronger and weaker concentrations are also available:
- 3.6%: Bold
- 2.4%: Full flavour
- 1.8%: Regular
- 1.2%: Light
- 0.6%: Ultra Light
The concentration of nicotine will have a big impact on the sensation you get in the throat from vaping, as well as how your e-cigarette performs. If you want to change the strength of your e-liquid, we recommend doing so gradually. Doubling the nicotine content from 1.8% to 3.6% in one go can be quite a shock.
Of course, if you’ve got any queries, just get in touch.
How long will one bottle of e-liquid last?
Frequent use will mean faster replacements, but generally, you can expect 30ml of e-liquid to last for anywhere between 7 and 10 days.
What else is in an e-liquid apart from nicotine and flavourings?
The ingredients which enables e-liquids to become vapour when heated are vegetable glycerine, propylene glycol, or a mixture of both.
Generally, the e-liquids you buy consist of propylene glycol, vegetable glycerine, flavourings, nicotine and water. VaporFi offers a blend that’s 70% PG and 30% VG – creating the perfect balance of vapour production and a satisfactory “throat hit”.
Alternatively, you can go for a nicotine-free product, but this will create far less of a sensation in the throat.
How much flavour enhancer or fruit sweetener is recommended?
The rule of thumb to go by is one drop for every 1ml of e-liquid.
For example, if you’ve got a 4ml tank, add four drops of your fruit sweetener or flavour enhancer before filling up with e-liquid.
Can I use flavour enhancers or fruit sweeteners in all vaporizer tanks?
These will work with all devices, but it’s worth noting that the end flavour might be more intense if you’re using a vaporizer with a higher wattage.
Is it possible to use flavour enhancer and fruit sweetener together?
Yes! Get experimenting.
Grand Reserve Collection questions
Who is VaporFi’s Grand Reserve Collection designed for?
VaporFi’s premium range of e-liquids is known as the Grand Reserve Collection. Exquisite levels of vapour production and first-class flavours come together to create a rich and indulgent vaping experience. This collection is admired by beginners and dripping enthusiasts alike.
What are the ingredients and flavours used in the Grand Reserve Collection?
The recipes for each of these products have been lovingly concocted by our professional Vapetenders. In each bottle, you’ll find USP grade vegetable glycerine, USP certified propylene glycol and USP grade nicotine (unless you go nicotine free).
Which nicotine strengths are available in this range?
- 1.8% - Regular
- 1.2% - Light
- 0.6% - Ultra Light
- 0.3% - Drippin’ Level (recommended for drippers)
- 0% - Nicotine free
Which nicotine concentration should I go for if I’ve never dripped before?
If you’ve got a high-wattage device, it’s best for you to use a lower nicotine concentration. Generally, drippers go for 0mg, 0.3mg or 0.6mg e-liquids – occasionally stretching to 1.2%.
Can e-liquids in the Grand Reserve Collection range be used with any tank?
We have designed all of the e-liquids in the Grand Reserve Collection to bring the best out of any VaporFi tank.
What makes VaporFi’s range of e-cigarettes so special?
VaporFi isn’t in the business of creating any old e-cigarette. Instead, we pride ourselves on creating high-spec devices with quality components that go the extra mile in terms of performance. This results in a more immersive experience for vapers.
Our rechargeable batteries are a world apart from those you’d find in e-cigarettes marketed to beginners. Not only do they generate high-quality vapour in greater quantities, but the flavours are far richer. If you’re the type of vaper who’s fed up with the limited options afforded to you by prefilled cartridges, our products will be a revelation.
How do VaporFi devices work?
Our e-cigarettes give you total control over your vaping experience – enabling you to emulate the sensation of smoking without the downsides. Begin by filling the e-cigarette’s cartomizer with e-liquid and turning on the battery using the button provided. The heating component will then get to work vaporizing your e-liquid, meaning all you have to do is inhale – exactly as you would when smoking or using a different e-cigarette.
How long do the batteries of VaporFi e-cigs last?
This will depend on how frequently you use it. When fully charged, your e-cigarette’s battery should keep you going for the entire day. As VaporFi offers batteries of different sizes, this can vary.
No matter which battery you purchase, you’ll benefit from an LED display which indicates how much power is left before a recharge is necessary.
How will I know when to recharge?
Your battery will give you a heads up. We have designed our batteries so they can go the distance, and even offer a “hibernation” standby mode to help save power when the e-cigarette is not in use.
How fast do your e-cigarette batteries recharge?
Generally, it will take two-and-a-half hours for your battery to be fully recharged.
In order to maximise the lifespan of your battery, you should try to avoid dropping them on hard surfaces, as this can cause considerable damage. Investing in a case to carry your batteries comes recommended.
We recommend charging your battery before they lose power completely and giving them the time they need to reach 100% before using them again. These full cycles will mean you won’t need to replace your batteries as frequently. If you vape often, it’s going to be worth buying a backup battery or two so you’re never caught short.
What do I get out of atomizer heads with higher resistance?
Our atomizers come with three levels of resistance: 1.8, 2.4 and 2.8. The smaller the number, the higher the power – bringing greater levels of vapour as well as a more intense flavour and hit in the throat.
Can all VaporFi cartomizers be refilled?
All of the cartomizers in our range can be refilled with our e-liquids expect from our Express range of prefilled cartridges. If you want to save money and help the environment, we recommend opting for a refillable model.
Can e-cigarette components be swapped across different models?
Generally, the parts in one of our products can be reused in another. That said, the cartridges provided with our Express range will only work with the accompanying battery – and the same goes for Jet cartomizers. We do provide some adapters which can make components compatible with other devices.
Do the e-cigarette’s batteries come charged?
Fresh out of the box, your e-cigarettes come with 30% charge. Because of this, it’s recommended you give them a full charge before you first use them.
Is it normal for the atomizer to leak into my battery?
This depends. A small amount of e-liquid where the battery connects with the atomizer is quite common and nothing to worry about. However, it can become problematic if large quantities of fluid are seeping out of your cartridge, atomizer or tank and into the battery. It’s important to perform a little bit of maintenance from time to time by cleaning the battery’s contacts – before every charge as a bare minimum.
What’s the difference between manual and automatic batteries?
Auto batteries boast vacuum switches which activate the e-cigarette as soon as you inhale into the mouthpiece. The benefit of these systems is that they are hands free. Meanwhile, manual batteries are accompanied with a button on the e-cigarette which needs to be pressed for the device to be turned on. Although slightly less convenient, it is worth noting that manual batteries can last twice as long as automatic ones.
What is mAh?
Also known as milli-ampere-hours, this measures how much energy can be stored in a battery – and as you’d imagine, a higher number means it’s got a greater capacity. In layman’s terms, you can expect to use e-cigarettes with higher mAh for longer before they need to be recharged. Higher mAh can also mean that your device’s battery will be bigger and will need longer before it is fully recharged.
What’s an oil atomizer?
This is a pre-built component which is designed to be used with oil concentrates. Their bespoke structure is geared towards vapers who use oil concentrates instead of e-liquids.
